Music Tells A Story

Duane Hunt, “The Singing Cop!”, is a traffic homicide investigator with 30 years of law enforcement experience who sings the songs from “Yesterday and Today”.  Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Duane began singing in his home church choir at the age of 12.  Over the next 15 years, he sang in several ensembles including a men’s quartet, a mixed Christian contemporary group, solos, and duets.  Highlights include touring Florida during summer months and performing Easter sunrise services on the Fort Lauderdale beach.

Duane became a police officer in 1994.  Over his 30 year career, he served 15 years as a motorcycle officer.  He currently is serving as a traffic homicide investigator.

After relocating to Central Florida, along with serving his community as a police officer, Duane became known for singing our National Anthem.  Duane has performed for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Central Florida Law Enforcement annual memorials, as well as multiple ceremonies and services, just to name a few.

Duane’s biggest fan and supporter is his beautiful wife, Paula.  Married in 1996, their family includes four wonderfully talented children and eight adorable grandchildren.

Duane is also a cancer survival!  Diagnosed in 2012, Duane conquered the disease after intense chemotherapy treatment.

Today, Duane can be seen performing songs from “Yesterday and Today” at retirement communities, weddings, parties, you name it.  Duane’s desire is to bring joy through song, touching hearts through nostalgia, reminiscing, and good times!
